Now this is a story all about how...(big shout out to the Fresh Prince. lol)

          Picture
It's always special when a loved one graduates from high school.  And it's totally TWICE AS SWEET when there are TWO graduates in one family.
Our guests of honor for this particular family are first cousins--one graduated from Waipahu High School, and the other from Damien Memorial High School.  They were both open to a theme and I suggested that since both of them are products of the 90's, that a Funky Fresh (since Wil Smith singlehandedly RULED this decade.lol) Party would be super fun.  And so began our journey back in time to the years when Salt-N-Pepa and the Carlton were IT!
The party itself was the banquet hall for the Puerto Rican Association of Hawaii.  I'd never been there before, but I think we did a pretty fantastic job of adding funk and flavah to the walls.
As you can see, we splashed a lot of blue, purple and yellow on EVERYTHING!
I have several favorite elements from this event, but I think every single item came together to create a super memorable event.  More importantly, the graduates really liked all the details from the posters of the pink and black Chucks personalized with their names and schools, to the Cassette Tape centerpieces, to the 'fro pick favors.
It was a blast to plan and a blast to execute! Definitely one of the most memorable events I've been a part of. :)
